The Challenge

As part of a significant drive to streamline the bank’s diverse operations and technology functions into a single, coherent unit, it became clear to the client that execution relied on change management.  We were asked to provide senior, experienced resources to work within the newly formed, centralised function to help them manage the changes consistently and effectively.

Our Approach

  • Worked with an internal OD unit to assess and utilise a central methodology and toolkit to facilitate discussions around structural design conversations
  • Supported the process to design, create and implement a centralised Resourcing Database to confirm resources in post and track potential movements as a result of the structural design conversations.
  • We identified the data that needed to be gathered to populate the database, the approach to engaging business located HR teams to actively populate the database and the plan for rollout.
  • Ensured that at all times the plan was focused on delivering the results in a rapidly changing environment and against a backdrop of potential ER disruption.

Key Outcomes

  • The new functional and structural changes are underway globally, each area having access to a coherent and consistent approach that has been tested in specific senior levels.
  • The detailed activities around the population of resource data in the Resourcing Database are in process and the changes are being managed as it progresses.
  • We worked collaboratively with the functional Change Teams and the OD unit to ensure clarity of purpose, consistency of approach and coherency of outcomes.
