Bind is Newcastle’s not-for-profit food waste hub that believes in positive, creative approaches to reduce food waste and drive behaviour change. They focus their work on changing public attitudes, education, local policy and collaborating with local private, public and third sector organisations to deliver consistent, effective projects to reduce food waste.
Bind requested support from Pop Up to help them consider how to move from a volunteer-led to employee-led organisation, defining their new organisational structure and ways of working as they prepared to open the doors of their permanent, Magic Hat café.
We reviewed Bind’s current organisational design and team structure to identify areas for change, aligned with their future vision, strategic goals and design principles. We reviewed key activities and processes to inform future roles and responsibilities, and defined key values and future ways of working. We also explored the senior team’s behavioural preferences using C-Me, a behavioural profiling tool, to help the team to better understand their leadership behaviour and the impact it has on others.
“Having ideas and values sub-synced and actually defined is such a big step for us and we couldn't have done it without you. We took so much from the process and see this work as a solid building block to work upwards from.”
