Project Wingman is a charity founded in March 2020 in direct response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Captain Emma Henderson MBE, Professor Rob Bor and other airline colleagues came together to explore how grounded aircrew could support the NHS during the crisis. They put a call out to the airline community with the idea of taking crew into NHS hospitals to provide well-being support for NHS staff in ‘airline style’ lounges. An incredible 6,500 airline crew answered their call for volunteers, from across every UK airline, and Project Wingman was born.
Project Wingman reached out to us for help with defining and articulating their strategy, giving them a strong basis from which to seek funding and engage their stakeholders.
During two virtual workshops we explored Project Wingman’s ambition, value proposition and the key outcomes they wanted to influence. We reviewed the environment in which they were operating, including the resources they had access to, and additional resources, skills and capabilities they needed, to achieve their strategic objectives.
