The Challenge

The bank was implementing an ambitious new strategy – to be the best bank for its customers.  Achieving this would have a significant impact on customers and capability of their teams. They wanted to implement ‘agile’ capabilities across the organisation.

Our Approach

  • A Refresh to their ‘agile’ methodology, capability definitions and training materials
  • Co-creating a capability framework assessment tool to be used in their annual review cycle
  • Providing training and support to improve communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, leading and influencing, coaching and mentoring, creating solutions, strategic thinking and project planning
  • Hosting a programme of webinars facilitation, strategic thinking and communicating effectively

Key Outcomes

  • There were high levels of participation in the programme by all members of the relevant teams, from the capability assessment phase onwards (92% of staff completed the assessment)
  • Capability requirements identified by grade for key skills and knowledge areas
  • A new annual performance review cycle using the new capability framework was used meaning individual's and team capabilities improved so teams are now delivering larger scale projects
