Our internships are usually 8 weeks long, and run throughout the year.
We try to give our Research Analysts as much variety as possible whilst they are with us. They will all get the opportunity to work on a client-facing project, and may also be able to get involved in some internal work as well. In addition we try to ensure that all of our Research Analysts work on one of our Pop Up projects. This is an opportunity to really get involved in our work and to gain a deep understanding of what life as a Q5er is like.

We do not currently offer work experience. If you are aged between 15 – 18, please do take a look at the opportunities that we offer as part of our Youth Panel, or if you are at University, our Futures Panel.
We welcome applications from candidates who have their own right to work within the UK. You will be asked to provide evidence of your right to work during the early stages of the application process, and you must maintain and be able to demonstrate your right to work throughout the duration of your employment.

Our interviews do not involve any case studies at this stage, so no preparation is needed other than ensuring that you are familiar with what we do. Do come armed with questions too!

At Q5, we believe that people should ‘soar with their strengths’ rather than having to tick every box of consulting capability. We have an environment which aims to use projects as the bedrock to development and that we support each other in doing so. We have introduced The Development Curriculum has been developed by Q5 consultants for Q5 consultants. The Development Curriculum focuses on core consulting skills as well as areas of interest to Q5ers. This ensures that we set up people up for success both in delivery of project work and building the firm. We supplement this with an external development platform that concentrates on subject areas such as leadership & management, time management and personal effectiveness. We fully believe that development should be in the hands of the individual with support from their mentor and the broader team.
Many of our team have worked on international projects, and some have worked either on a project basis or on a secondment to one of our other offices. There are certainly opportunities to travel overseas and more regularly domestically – anywhere from Stockholm to Wales, Leeds to the Middle East.
Yes – we set up the Q5 Foundation in 2011 which has worked with many charities over the years including Streetkids, Suited & Booted, and MQ. In addition, we set up Pop Up in 2020 to enable us to support organisations who needed help during the first lockdown. This has continued to thrive and won a Lord Mayor’s Dragon Award in 2021.
